Stephen
Wahl
Stephen Wahl assists CoreStrategies with pre-campaign studies
and campaigns, obtaining appointments with potential donors, foundation
executives and other potential funding sources at the highest
levels. On a recent CoreStrategies’ project, Steve was able
to convert 100 cold calls into 36 interview appointments with
some of the country’s leading philanthropists as well as
the decision-makers at several highly-regarded private foundations.
Steve, who
specializes in “rainmaking” – developing new
business for corporate clients, both for-profit and nonprofit
– also has his own boutique marketing/sales firm, Wahl &
Associates. Recent clients of his firm include such diverse companies
as Unreal Marketing, American Reading Company and Shell Motor
Oil.
In describing
his work, Steve says, “We seamlessly follow up on executive
letters or direct marketing campaigns; we break through and set
appointments for new business discussions and our client proposals.
For example, contacting both Lou Gerstner (IBM) and Michael Eisner
(Disney) opened the door to successful presentations for clients.”
Steve has
had a distinguished corporate career that includes ten years as
the Senior Internal Consultant at PepsiCo Corporate. He has also
developed and managed departments at AVCO, Frito Lay, Pepsi Cola,
PepsiCo, Hertz/RCA, E. F. Hutton and TELCO Consulting.
Along the
journey, he was elected the National Vice President of the American
Society for Training and Development, and served on its board
for 10 years.
